Traveling with our 3 kids: 7, 3 and 1year old it was a great experience for our family, There son was a great guide. After our village tour we spent a lovely time unwinding at his warm family's home, hospitality and food was great (and not spicy!!!!). They have a nice overnight option that would of been a nice choice to try instead of driving back!!! We where there in march and evenings where cool and pleasant. Kids where amazed by the traditional craftsmanship of the Durry (very educative). I got 2 of them. One i brought home that same day and the other was still on the loom and was sent to me by post a few months later. It will keep us warm during Canadian winters and is a great memory for the kids that got to see it being made with great pride.

Nice fair trade option for handicrafts. Clever upward looking son who ahs a really good looking homestay option as well though we did not get a chance to try it. I hope that the money made here is distributed fairly but it most certainly is more fairly so than in the city.

We spent an afternoon here as part of a village tour. What a lovely family, they fed us delicious food and shared stories about their craft and life. Of course I bought a Durry as the design was fantastic and I really wanted to take a token of this great memory - though large, it was packed into a small bag, plus I could pay by card which was a bonus. I felt like I made some good new friends on that day!

we stayed here for a couple days and we loved it, and we had a special durry made. chhotaram made it and shipped it to us and it just arrived. we are very happy with it -- it has bright colors and it's just really lovely. we chose a design and size specially for our house, and he made exactly what we discussed. we are very happy with it.
